bonjour bella!

april's bella magazine is featuring my photo of ms. ruby on the cover. I love that it's the eco-issue. I love how ruby's face conveys both sweetness and sincerity and the way her 3-year-old hands are tender and clumsy at the same time. she is an absolute joy to photograph and hang out with. when we play princess, she lets me be jasmine. jasmine and mulan sit and watch imaginary television in the midst of a busy coffeehouse. mulan reigns over the remote control and narrates the story. jasmine is quiet; it's been a while since she's been in the princess role.

central virginia friends, look for it next week in print (it's huge, you can't miss it!).

watch this.
♥
think you might want to empower girls with art and love in your corner of the world? beautiful mccabe is now offering two types of mermaid warrior e-courses: the full length (starts feb. 22nd; I just signed up...some magical force keeps pulling me to this idea of working with girls) and a smaller video course. it would be awesome if you joined me!

oh ms. ruby

thank you for making this little leap of mine so much fun and so easy and natural.

thank you for your giggles, your spirit, your playfulness, your light that warms everyone who comes within reach of you.

thank you for your patience with the props and with my beginner-ness. {and thank you for saying no to standing in the lavender because you got your first bee sting two days ago~I love a girl who stands up for herself.}

thank you. thank you. thank you.

{more of ruby coming soon.}
